5-Course Vegetarian Dinner at Bari

Tuesday evening April 20th at 6:30pm Bari is having its first-ever vegetarian wine dinner. Chef Jason Severs will be preparing 5 vegetarian courses that will be paired with 5 wines from Delta Wholesale. The cost of the dinner is $50. This is exactly the type of thing I love to support, so I will be there. I hope to see you there, too.

Reservations can be made at:

www.Barimemphis.com

or by calling 901-722-2244.

The Menu:

First: Fresh spring vegetable salad, with roasted garlic honey marinated grilled tempeh, currents, portabella mushroom crisp

Second: Chilled spring pea soup, with basil crema, parmigianno-reggiano biscotto di sale

Third: Roasted potato gnocchi, with wilted spinach, cremini mushroom, caramelized onion, shaved piave vecchio fi anno

Oh, deliciousness! I wish I could be in Memphis that night. As a professional chef and vegetarian, I'm glad to see veggie cuisine featured in mainstream restaurants. It is high time people stop thinking of vegetarian meals as bland or consisting only of some tofu and steamed vegetables.
